All versions come standard with VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) traction control and stability and the MA-EPS (Motion Adaptive Electric Power Steering) steering system. This device analyzes the behavior of the car in a trajectory exit in a curve, helping the driver in the return of the control of the vehicle, favoring or stifling the steering mat. The model is equipped with Hill Start Assist (HSA), which keeps the vehicle braked for a few seconds to assist the exit on slopes. The Touring version is equipped with front, side and side curtain airbags.

How-To Install Car Decals

Vinyl car decals are a great product because not only are they fully-customization, they apply directly to the vehicle and look as if they were painted-on. Car decals can be small, applied to say, the vehicle’s door, or they can be very large, covering the entire side of a panel van. The versatility of the product means that the possibilities are endless. When it comes to installing car decals, customers are often intimidated. Due to the adhesive of vinyl, there is, for the most part, only one chance to get a car decal installation right. However, by thinking it through, taking time, and working carefully, installing a car decal should be very simple.

Car decals on the body

Step 1.  Use masking tape to secure the top of your decal to your vehicle’s body. If your car decal is very large, find a partner who can help with the installation.

Step 2.  Lift the decal upward and begin peeling off the protective backing on the back side of your decal. Do not remove the entire backing at one time, as this could cause the decal to fold in on itself. Instead, tear away small sections of the backing at a time.

Step 3.  Using a squeegee, apply the section of the decal that is exposed to the vehicle. Swipe from the middle of the decal outward to squeeze out air bubbles. Continue down the decal, removing sections of the backing as you go.

Step 4.  Once the entire decal is installed, spot-check it for bubbles and wrinkles using the squeegee. If you’re still having problems, use a pin to gently pop the bubble and flatten it with your finger.

Car decals on the window

Step 1. If you have ordered a small vinyl decal to place on your window, like a car sticker, or even a car window cling, the first thing you’ll need to do to apply it is clean your window thoroughly using glass cleaner. Allow the window to dry fully.

Step 2. If necessary, measure your window to find the spot at which you will be placing your sticker. For small stickers, you can remove the entire adhesive backing, but still be careful-if the graphic folds together you likely won’t be able to pull it apart.

Step 3. For a window cling, you’ll need to apply it from the inside of the window. Spray the window with water first-this creates more “cling.” Use the squeegee to flatten the cling onto the window. If there are bubbles, gently lift the cling and reapply.

*Note: Static clings are the only car sign that should not be placed on the outside of a vehicle window because they do not have an adhesive and could easily be removed by harsh weather conditions or vandals.

Best Rules for Safe Car Travel With Pets and Why to Use Crates For Dogs or Cats

As I thought about this article, I realized that a collection of hints was insufficient to convey a very important lesson I’ve learned over the years of being a pet-parent. Travel with your pet can be challenging. There’s no nice way to put this. Our pets love us unconditionally and rely on us to take the best care of them we possibly can. The personal lesson described below is why I put so much emphasis on pet safety while traveling. A while ago, I was transporting my cats as my home was being repaired. Being cats, they decided to get into a fur-flying, yowling cat fight while we were driving along the highway. Needless to say, the commotion was unbelievably distracting. So much so, that I came very close to rear-ending the vehicle that had unexpectedly stopped in front of me. Thankfully, that did not happen. But the cats couldn’t understand why I fussed at them and they couldn’t understand how fortunate we were to missed being in an avoidable accident or escaped terrible injury. Rather than neatly arranging my topics in easy-to-follow bullets, I thought I’d lay them out in terms strong enough that anyone as headstrong as me could grasp their significance. Therefore, this article has three sections. First, we’ll cover the Never-Do-These section. Second, we’ll cover the Always-Do-These section. And third, we’ll cover the Please-Think-About-These section.

Okay, let’s begin with the Never List:

– Never allow your pet to ride unrestrained in your car or truck. You do not want your pets to become projectiles. Our pet’s bodies are resilient but not indestructible.

– Never use a soft enclosure, such as a cardboard box or pet tent if you have access to a wire or sturdy crate. Soft carriers have their place, but for maximum protection, it’s best to have the sturdiest crate you have access to, even if you borrow one.

– Never allow pets to hang out vehicle windows. Even if your pup loves to feel the wind in his face, this isn’t a wise thing to do. His or her face may collide with an immovable object at 50, 60, or 70 miles per hour. Leaving pets in a hot car for just ten minutes could cause irreparable injury. Dogs do not sweat and can’t cool off without air and water.

– Never transport a pet without a collar, leash, and extra identification, such as your cell phone number on an extra tag.

Now, here are the Always Reminders:

– Always get your pet used to the car with short, fun trips.

– Always use a leash when putting your pet into or out of a crate or carrier.

– Always use seat belts or cords to secure a crate in a back seat or truck bed.

– Always keep a good supply of your pets regular food ready to take along. If you are unexpectedly detained, a change in diet could be very hard on your pet. Also, water from home in a gallon container is a good idea.

Finally, here is the Sometimes section:

– Sometimes your cat will display their escape artist skills if in a cardboard carrier; so invest in a sturdy carrier. You’ll save time and upholstery.

– Sometimes a dog or cat will experience motion sickness, so be prepared with paper and regular towels. If your pet experiences severe bouts of motion sickness, check with your veterinarian about which medication may be best for your cat or dog.

– Sometimes no matter how well you plan, your return home may be delayed. It’s a good idea to keep copies of pet vaccinations with you in case boarding becomes necessary.

– Sometimes the unexpected car repair might mean summoning a tow-truck. Ask about their policies before they arrive to assist you. Have a secure harness or collar and leash ready, in case your crate will not fit in the cab of the tow vehicle.

Should this article sound like doggie-owner marching orders, know that my intention is not to offend the reader. I am adamant about these pointers because of my own experiences. The time saved by leaving a crate at home can never replace a beloved pet. Should your pet get loose or become distracting to you while driving, the result could be disastrous. My own most common excuse has always been – Well, it’s just a short trip. Does that ring a bell?

Because we all need the unconditional love only our pets can give, and because they depend on us for safe travel, please consider investing in a sturdy, well-built travel crate for your dog or cat. Then, please don’t leave it at home. And yes, I’m listening.

Should You Purchase a New Or Used Car?

The decision to purchase a new car or a used car may all depend on how much people want to spend. If the purchase price is not a factor, then a new car may be in order. New cars will also cost less in maintenance. But those who do not have a lot of money to spend in the beginning may see a used car as a better choice. Both types of vehicles have their advantages as well as disadvantages.

Advantages for New Cars

With a new car, major repairs will not be needed for at least a couple of years. The maintenance required for new cars is very easy; oil changes and tune ups will be the biggest challenges that people will have to meet. The other positive is that these types of repairs may be vw beetle cover under the manufacturer’s warranty. Used vehicles will need major repairs earlier than new cars such as on the brakes or to have the battery replaced. Warranties for new cars can last several years with some vehicles receiving a warranty that lasts as long as four years or 60,000 miles. Anything that needs to be repaired on the vehicle within four years or under 60,000 miles will be paid for by the manufacturer or the dealer where the vehicle was purchased. The warranties on a used car may have already expired before they can reach the new owner. Sometimes, major repairs are needed on a new vehicle, but the lemon laws that have been passed in every state cover them. If a new car can be demonstrated to be a lemon, under the law the car’s owner is entitled to a replacement.

Advantages for Used Cars

It would appear that used cars lag behind new cars in terms of advantages, but they do have their own benefits over new cars. In slower economic climates, the used car lots begin to fill up. This is because it is harder to sell these vehicles as people spend less money. More supply means the prices go down, and people looking for a used car should be able to find a very good deal at this time. Automobile manufacturers have been creating vehicles that are more and more reliable. They are lasting longer and presenting their owners with fewer problems. Also, the original warranty can be transferred to the second owner of a vehicle if it is still in effect at the time of purchase. The new owner also has the option of purchasing an extended warranty at this point. Lately, used cars have been treated differently than they have been in the past. The label certified pre-owned means that the vehicle has undergone and passed an intense inspection by the dealership further adding to the peace of mind their new owners may feel.
